There's a stand of trees at the Troutdale intersection where a right turn puts you on Marine Drive. And for three years we've watched a red-tailed hawk perched high in those trees on the hunt. We finally got the opportunity to park and get a really good look. And here is what we saw.
As you can see, it didn't take long for him to become aware of us.
He really didn't seem to like our observation, so dropped to another limb. I'll spare you the shot of his backside he so disdainfully flipped at us.
He sure was a beauty.
Especially as the setting sun illuminated his russet feathers.
We don't regret stopping to look and share this beautiful bird with you.
